Under the “ONE-DOOSAN” flag, Doosan’s construction equipment brands – medium to large excavators and wheel loaders (Infracore), compact construction equipment (Bobcat) and refractive dump trucks (Moxy) – are proudly displaying Doosan’s position as a global comprehensive construction equipment group, and leading the company’s takeover of European markets.
Doosan Infracore took part in Bauma 2010, the world’s largest construction equipment exhibition held from April 19 to 25 in Munich, Germany. Fifty-nine new products and strategic models for 2010, including excavators and wheel loaders, were displayed in a 4450㎡, large-scale booth.
Doosan Infracore expanded its product line-up to the super high-capacity market with the launch of a 70 ton operating weight DX700LC excavator. Also, hybrid excavators and state-of-the art, unmanned, remotely-controlled excavators showed new directions for future excavator development.
Doosan Infracore acquired a booth in the main area next to top global brands such as Caterpillar, Volvo and Komatsu, and displayed the excavators that have conquered the Chinese market as well as the equipment of Bobcat, the top global brand for compact construction equipment and Moxy, a manufacturer highly respected in the European dump truck market, under the theme of “Heavy and Compact.”
At the outdoor demonstration site, Doosan carried out linked package operations of its family of construction equipment and cemented Doosan’s image in the minds of European customers as a global construction equipment brand with a full line-up of products.
Doosan Infracore is striving to target the North American and European markets. After taking over Bobcat in 2007, Doosan has carried out various business activities, such as cross-sales, joint global sourcing and comprehensive management of overlapping departments, in order to increase synergy effects. Doosan is currently establishing comprehensive organizations that will have advantages in each core market, such as the North American/European markets, the Chinese market and other emerging markets.
The company is also concentrating its resources on establishing a global management system and has employed Anthony Helsham, a former CEO of a competing firm, as the CEO of the Construction Equipment BG to oversee construction-related domestic and overseas divisions.
Doosan Infracore planned a comprehensive exhibition that includes Bobcat and Moxy products in order to strengthen Doosan’s image as a comprehensive construction equipment brand in the North American/European markets, which are coming out of one of the worst recessions in history. Based on the synergy between the brands, the Construction Machines BG plans to accelerate to a top three global position by 2014, with sales of 11.5 trillion KRW.
Doosan’s Forklifts BG and Engines & Materials BG also took part in the exhibition. The Forklifts BG displayed the D160S-5 large-capacity forklift for heavy duty operations and the LEDH 22 pallet truck designed for use in narrow spaces, while the Engines & Materials BG displayed the DL06 engine applied with DPF and EGR systems to meet the TIER 4 Interim emissions regulation standards.
The Bauma exhibition is held every three years and is the world’s largest construction equipment exhibition where construction equipment, cranes, road equipment and mining equipment are displayed. A total of 320 construction equipment companies from 50 countries are taking part in Bauma 2010, the 29th Bauma exhibition and are fiercely carrying out product promotion and marketing.
