Doosan Infracore continues to boost its technological competitiveness by enabling its engineers to obtain top-tier technical qualifications at home and abroad.

On July 23, Doosan Infracore announced that a total of seven engineers had passed the 67th National Master Craftsman Test, whose final results were announced on July 17. Most notably, Supervising Foreman Byeongwoo Nam has won the title of ‘Triple Crown Master Craftsman’ by acquiring the ‘Gas Master Craftsman’ certificate on top of his master craftsman certificates in Construction Equipment Maintenance and the Handling of Hazardous Materials.

A master craftsman is certified by the Korean government as a person equipped with top-tier technical expertise coupled with prominent field service management capabilities. Doosan Infracore has secured a total of 150 master craftsmen in various fields including the latest addition, with five of them, including Byeongwoo Nam, certified as master craftsmen in three different fields.

Last month, Doosan Infracore produced new professional engineers who are certified by the Korean government as specialists equipped with top-of-the-line expertise in their professional fields in addition to outstanding capabilities in such key areas as planning, research and development, and management in their respective fields.

Doosan Infracore’s new professional engineers are Deputy General Manager Geunjae Lee of the Incheon Manufacturing Engineering Team and Senior Research Engineer Cheongrae Lee of the Virtual Solution Development Team. Geunjae Lee became the company’s second ‘professional engineer in two fields’ by acquiring the certification in welding technology on top of the certification he acquired in the field of construction equipment in 2017. Doosan Infracore has secured a total of six professional engineers so far.

Meanwhile, Doosan Infracore has produced its first International Coating Inspector, certified by NACE International, which is regarded as the world's top certification agency for the corrosion control industry.

Senior research engineer Wonho Lee of the New Materials Technology Team at the Doosan Infracore Institute of Technology passed the Coating Inspector Program (CIP) Level 2 examination administered by the NACE (National Association of Corrosion Engineers) of the United States, and now is certified as an international coating inspector, a first for the company.

Doosan Infracore runs various programs designed to help its employees continually improve their workplace capabilities. Examples include the company’s active support for its employees’ Master Craftsman Certification Study Club and the implementation of the FC (Functional Competency Level-Up Program to help them further enhance their workplace competencies.

“Our employees’ technical competencies, when certified at home and abroad, ultimately become the company’s critical knowledge assets,” said an executive from Doosan Infracore. “We will therefore continue to proactively support our employees’ efforts to enhance their technological capability and encourage them to share their outstanding expertise companywide as a way of strengthening our corporate competitiveness.”
