BAUMA exposition in Munich
2007. 5. 23

Doosan Infracore presents the final phase of the transition to the single “Doosan” brand name and accompanying measures.

2007 marks a new era for the Korean group Doosan Infracore. After the takeover of Daewoo Heavy Industries and Machinery Ltd. in 2005 and the simultaneous use of the two brand names in Europe in 2006, Doosan Infracore is aiming at fifth place in the world in the infrastructure sector, under this sole brand name.

Much more than a simple name change

Doosan Infracore sees much more than a simple name change in this new brand name. The Korean group has been active for over 110 years in various fields, such as technology (civil engineering, desalination, marine engines, biotechnology, etc.), mass consumption (drinks, food, etc.) and services (advertising, car imports, etc.). Under their sole brand name, the group’s 23,000 members of staff will be working on an annual growth of 30%, of which a third must be generated abroad, including Europe. This change also provides an opportunity to reaffirm the strong principles of business:
- CREDIBILITY is one of Doosan Infracore’s constitutional values. To be worthy of trust is the foundation of freedom, which is essential for innovation in the service of the client.
- RELIABILITY is one of Doosan Infracore’s institutional values. Supporting its commercial partners in a flexible way in all areas of business guarantees profitable and lasting cooperation.
- RESPECTABILITY is one of Doosan Infracore’s human values. Respect for Nature and for Mankind brings respect for oneself and gets the best out of each person in a voluntary and dynamic way.

Plans for determined growth

This major new centre in the industrial and public infrastructure sector is geared resolutely towards the future with advanced technologies and its investments in research and development. The group’s resources include its solid financial structures, major investments and its hundred year’s of experience. The extraordinary motivation of the staff at Doosan Infracore is not unrelated to the family management style preferred by its directors, since the group’s creation.

The strategic growth plans from 2007 to 2015 can be summarised as follows:
- Turnover: from 3.076 billion € to over 23 billion €;
- Operating profit: from 0.3 billion € to over 2.3 billion €;
- Global positioning: from No.3 in Asia to top 5 worldwide;
- Tenders: from a supplier of equipment to a supplier of global solutions in Infrastructure Support Business (ISB).

Having obtained the ISO9001/14001, GS, EN45001 certifications, amongst others, Doosan Infracore offers a wide range of over 30 excavator models on wheels and crawlers and wheel loaders. In addition to the numerous new models to be unveiled in 2007, the group wishes to position itself as a targeted full-liner, by developing and integrating different activities both upstream and downstream of its principal activity. A global offer in the infrastructure sector will forge the future successes of the company.

The proof at BAUMA

Doosan Infracore will provide evidence of its know-how and intentions at the German BAUMA exhibition which will take place in Munich from 23 to 29 April 2007.
Five thousand square metres decorated in the new group’s colours presenting over 35 models of equipment, as well as numerous engines and other technological accessories. An ecological gas engine will be the star at this stand imbued with respect for the environment. Situated in the North zone of the exhibition, Doosan Infracore will show machines in operation situated in the demonstration and promotion area. A special welcome is reserved for dealers and the press, for whom a press file will be prepared.
