Hyundai Doosan Infracore has successfully won a large excavator order from the Egyptian Ministry of Defense. The photo shows the latest 36-ton excavator model (DX360LCA-7M) to be supplied.

Hyundai Doosan Infracore, Hyundai Heavy Industries Group's construction equipment company, announced on September 5 that it recently signed an agreement to supply 28 36-ton excavators with the Egyptian Ministry of Defense, bringing the total number of construction equipment sold to Egypt this year alone to 137.

This is a 32% increase from the same period a year earlier. The newly contracted equipment will be used in the construction of a railway between Egypt's new administrative capital and Cairo.

Previously, Hyundai Doosan Infracore won an order for 30 pieces of construction equipment from the Egyptian Ministry of Defense early this year.

Considering ongoing inquiries for additional contracts in Egypt, the company is expected to sell more than 250 units this year, up 50% from last year. This accounts for 50% of Egypt's total construction equipment market in 2021.

Hyundai Doosan Infracore's rapid growth in Egypt is the result of its continuous local sales efforts driven by technology and quality. In the competitive bidding by the Egyptian Ministry of Defense this time, the company presented a new 36-ton model (DX360LCA-7M) that boasts outstanding engine output and fuel efficiency. Compared to the previous model, this model's engine output was increased by over 12%. It also features the latest hydraulic system and virtual bleed-off (VBO) technology for improved operability and fuel efficiency.

“In the Egyptian construction equipment market, government-led projects account for more than 50%, so it is very important to build trust with government agencies. We aim to increase our market share by continuously building trust with our leading technology and quality," said an official of Hyundai Doosan Infracore.

Hyundai Doosan Infracore has also increased its share in the African market, which includes Egypt, by about 28% year over year fueled by factors such as rising commodity prices and market recovery on the back of economic stimulus. Hyundai Doosan Infracore is expected to increase its sales by more than 33% compared to the previous year by aggressively foraying into the African market including Egypt. <End>
